Katie’s a girl who knows who she is and seems to be totally comfortable with that. What a refreshing trait for a senior girl to have. We had lots of opposition during the shoot–got kicked out of a Christian campground and even had to stop shooting for about a half hour while it rained… and yet, all in all the shoot came out wonderfully. The rain cooled things off a bit and the sun came out shining minutes after it stopped. I had fun with Katie and her momma… thanks you two for spending an eventful afternoon with me!

Brandi and Justin are beautiful. Just beautiful.

Brandi and I worked together at MC… I love her. Don’t know Justin nearly as well, but I know that he is all about his gal and that’s enough for me. Their wedding brought together some of my favorite people, so Jess and I had a blast being there.

I love you guys. Brandi, thanks for being fierce. Justin, thanks for putting up with her fierceness. I had a blast…

Mary Margaret | PORTRAITS

Mary Margaret is on a pretty cool mission of creating her first music album. She’s a vocal music graduate of Mississippi College and just finished the recording of her first project a few weeks ago. The selection of her debut is mostly classic Christian and will showcase her beautiful voice in a perfect way, I’m sure. Shooting for music packaging isn’t something I do often at all, so, it was a whole lot of fun for me. Mary Margaret has striking features, and way awesome hair, so I enjoyed getting really artsy with her and going for a slightly more dramatic look than what I’m typically after. Here’s just a few…

I had fun with these two on their wedding day. They really had it all together: details were well thought out, locations were perfectly chosen, and the crew that joined them on their big day loved on ‘em all day long. All in all, it was as smooth as can be, and a delightful wedding day in which to take part. Anna & Jason–thanks for being such a pleasure to be around! Here’s a few from their wedding day…

Cool story. Anna had given Jason 5 magazine cutouts of wedding dresses, one of which was her own. She never told him which one was hers, but he picked one of ‘em and kept it until the wedding day. He chose EXACTLY RIGHT… boy knows his girl.

I thought it was neat that the parents sat next to one another as opposed to on opposite ends of the pew. Sweet families coming together…

Anna’s an elementary teacher and had some of her students help with reception decorations…

Anna & Jonathan are easy clients to have. They’re no-pressure, always-grateful, & super-punctual kind of people. They’re also full of creative ideas and all about one another. I’ve seen these two post/message/tweet about being best friends more times than I can count. And it’s not a show–these two are best of friends, and it’s so obvious when they’re together. As a married man, it’s a great reminder of our call to love our spouses loudly.

Their wedding was in Provine Chapel at MC and their reception was at the always-beautiful Fairview Inn. You may remember their previous blog appearances from their FOTOBOOTH and engagement posts.

Ain’t no such thing as a bad hair day to Anna’s hair stylist…

Jonathan’s text to Anna: “this is quite possibly the hottest day in the history of the world. I am melting away.”

But, the text I didn’t see (or photograph) that came right after: “But I’d melt for you any day.”

I really can’t even say enough good things about these two. We had some serious opposition in seeing their shoot happen–rain delays and weather scares made us think it might never happen. But, it did. And it was one of the most enjoyable engagement sessions I’ve had in a while. Jordan & Darren are real and genuine people. No pretenses or facades, they’re just up front about who they are. I dig that.

I can’t wait for their wedding in October, ’cause I know Jess and I will have a blast spending the weekend with them. It’s a wedding I realllllly look forward to shooting. Here’s a few from the engagement session…

Just got a thank-you note in the mail following an engagement session I did last week. I tell people all the time how lucky I am to work with the people I get to work with… and here’s a perfect example of why I wake up happy to go to work every single day…

Brittney, I had such a great time with you two. I can’t WAIT for the wedding and, yeah, thanks for putting your faces really close…

If you have a reception in the 115 degree heat and need to keep your guests from complaining, the FOTOBOOTH seems to be the best solution. No, we didn’t pour water on each of the guests that came through… it’s just sweat. And lots of it.

My wife’s best friend, Meredith, married another good friend of ours, Greyson, this past weekend. The day was sweet, even if it was super hot. The wedding post will come later, but I wanted to throw up a few of the FOTOBOOTH images to help brighten up this Monday!

Oh, and gotta give a HUGE thanks my office manager extraordinaire Heather and her husband (and one of my best buds) Eliott who manned the booth for most of the evening…

Megan & Matt | ENGAGED

Megan and I have one fairly unique thing in common: when everyone else is relaxing on the weekend, we’re working. Megan is a news anchor for our local ABC affiliate and anchors the weekend news program. Matt’s a lawyer in Jackson, so you can imagine that as we roamed around downtown Jackson just about everyone we ran into knew these two. I had such a good time getting to know them both better, which will make things even better when their wedding rolls around this December. Another thing better about their wedding day: it will (thankfully) not be nearly as hot as their engagement session was. Here’s a few from our day together…

Amanda is a bride who prioritized photography in such a wonderful way. She was so willing to let me shoot as much as I wanted, and even when I was tired, she was ready to shoot some more. I loved it. As a result, we were able to get plenty of great portraits of her and Patrick. Their wedding was an elegant down-home-feeling occasion with good friends everywhere.

Thanks you two… had a blast!

Patrick was a cheerleader at USM and made it look like a piece of cake to (literally) throw his bride way up in the air. I was impressed.
