It’s just not fair. Charlotte & Jeremy are beauuutiful people, who HAPPEN to have great personalities, and HAPPEN to both be in med. school well on their way to becoming genius doctors, and HAPPEN to have had one of the best wedding days ever. The best part? They’re not the least bit obsessed with themselves–which is precisely what you’d expect of two people who are so dang cool.

I LOVED this wedding. The marriage happened at one of the prettiest churches in Jackson (St. Andrew’s Cathedral), the party happened at the always trendy hotspot The South, details were nailed by the fabulous Kendall Poole, and (as always) Wendy Putt made life perfect with her crew handling the food and flowers. Clearly, I could shoot this wedding over and over and be perfectly happy.

What makes a bridal shoot interesting? Two dogs as big as the bride…

Fun story. Charlotte and her sister (Laura) were both married this summer. Laura, just a couple of months prior. Such a sweet experience for them to walk through together.

Some rainy weather kept us inside for all of the pictures… which makes it nice to have a place so beautiful in which to shoot.

St. Andrew’s doesn’t “allow” photography during the ceremony… shhhh…

How grateful am I that the rainy weather of the day resulted in a sunset this beautiful. A great tradeoff, I’d say…

It’s easy to love Jacob and Elise. I would know, ’cause I’ve loved Jacob and his entire family for a long time. You’ve read my rantings about these two on their engagement post from a couple of months ago. This wedding day was flawless. I mean that. I felt happy just being apart of the family event and the day flew by because of the fun I was having at “work.”

Thanks to Elise, Jacob, and both of your families for having me dive and take part in all that went down on one of the biggest days of your lives…

Elise was informed of their honeymoon destination when she opened one of Jacob’s gifts: a puzzle of the city of New York. She was e-l-a-t-e-d.

Brittney. Seriously. Could you be any more of an all-star bride? This girl walked into my studio over a year ago as another excited bride putting together her dream wedding day. Our taste is apparently super similar as she began assembling a team of my FAVORITES… Provine Chapel (the chapel I got married in), The South (my favorite reception venue), Wendy Putt for the food and flowers (Wendy can do no wrong), Shanna Lumpkin as coordinator (fresh ideas all over the place thanks to her), and Brock Gomez handling video (about the nicest guy you’ll ever meet). This girl walked into my studio an excited bride and she walked out leaving an excited photographer hoping for the chance to shoot her big day. And I’m so glad I got that chance.

Brittney and Dustin, as cliche as it sounds, you’ve become a whole lot more than clients to me over the last year. I consider you both friends and definitely hope we have lots more fun together. Hope you can already laugh at the craziness that went down on your honeymoon… the way you both keep your chin up and spirits high whatever the circumstance is an indication to me that you two are going to be incredibly happy together.

Lindsey is an interior designer with an affinity for all things modern, vintage and cool.

Ray is a landscaping creative with a knack for being crafty and the life of any party.

You can imagine the rest: these two know how to put together the perfect wedding day. I booked Lindsey long before her wedding which clued me that she was an orderly gal, and in our meeting it became quite clear that the vision she had for her wedding was going to make for an event I was glad to be a part of. What I didn’t know is that her other half would busy himself perfecting her vision by tracking down antique pieces for use at the reception and even recovering furniture for eclectic outdoor seating. Their creative style was executed perfectly and the wedding set on her family’s farmland was a night I won’t soon forget.

I also should mention that this wedding was my first opportunity to work with Kendall Poole. The girl did an incredible job as wedding coordinator and kept things sailing uber-smoothly. I’d completely recommend you checking into having her help you with your big day.

Lindsey, Ray, I loved becoming friends with you two over the last few months. Thanks for the pleasure.

Brandi and Justin are beautiful. Just beautiful.

Brandi and I worked together at MC… I love her. Don’t know Justin nearly as well, but I know that he is all about his gal and that’s enough for me. Their wedding brought together some of my favorite people, so Jess and I had a blast being there.

I love you guys. Brandi, thanks for being fierce. Justin, thanks for putting up with her fierceness. I had a blast…

There is SUCH a sweetness about Kate & Kyle. They are all about one another, and ooze a love that is inspired by their love for Christ. They were gracious enough to book me for engagements, bridals, the whole sha-bang, so I feel like I know them both so well at this point.

To the two of you–you were a pleasure getting to know. I’m CERTAIN you two are having a blast in these first days of marriage and I hope the images I’ve documented for you along this journey capture the sweet sincerity of your love for one another.

This wedding was Meridian’s event of the season—for SURE! I don’t think I know enough people to fill up the ol’ church house like Lauren & Ben did. These two were as chill as could be and their wedding day was full of class.

The O’Briants became the O’Briants just this past Saturday. Hilliary wants to be a photographer. Naturally, that would mean photography’s a pretty big deal on her wedding day–so, the pressure was on. Fortunately for me, Hilliary is SO not the type to make a big fuss about herself and I was able to just do my thing and have her support all the way through.

Their wedding brought some folks out, let me tell you. The quaint little Sallis, Mississippi church was packed to the brim. They had a classy reception at the nearby country club and the weather cooperated perfectly for a wonderful indoor/outdoor kind of day.

Proof that Hilliary is as great as I described: a few of the groomsmen had a fun time decking out Zach’s Jeep with things like toilet paper, shaving cream, vaseline, and, uh, doe pee. Some brides might have smacked some groomsmen around right then, but Hilliary shrugged it off and kept up a good demeanor. The whole things will be pretty hilarious… in a few years.

I love it when cool brides take me to cool places. Raynor and I went to school together, but her hometown is Virginia Beach, VA, so when she decided followell fotography needed to be with her on her wedding day–you KNOW I got excited.

Jess, Raynor, Josh and myself could be couple friends so easily. In fact, they’re living in NYC following their honeymoon and I hope we’ll get to be friends in the city before too long. The wedding, though, was just what I expected: tasteful, calm, and classic.

So, you faraway brides–call me up. I’d love to join you on your big day.

So, the groomsman on the far right of this picture cracked me up most of the day. He served as an “undercover agent” to assist in keeping Josh from seeing his bride. Ridiculous.
