bringing eden home

It’s been quite some time since we’ve posted anything about our adoption here on the followell fotography blog. But, the slideshow below is the perfect intersection of amazing photography (something we hope you do find here quite often) and thorough update of our adoption journey to date.

For those of you who didn’t know, we traveled to India at the beginning of December to bring home Eden Kaveri Followell, our beautiful 1 1/2-year-old adopted daughter. We brought along our dear friends Ben & Erin Chrisman who took away every bit of pressure we felt to document this tremendous milestone and the images they’ve delivered in the slideshow below have left us overwhelmed and inexpressibly grateful.

The best words, however, that succinctly sum up our recent feelings about adoption, and about these images specifically, were written by Jess:

“The joy and sorrow of our adoption were equally thick and present. Loss and gain were side by side. The fulfillment of our family was made complete by the brokenness and abandonment of another. The weight of it all both broke us and made us whole again. It was a story of salvation. For all of us.”

Thanks for walking this road with us. The support of so many has made all the difference.
