52 Weeks of Meg

I’m gonna interrupt the regularly-scheduled blogging and the images that are more common for this creative outlet of mine to show off something, er, someone who deserves a place on my blog for sure. Little Meg Maylee has made her appearance on the blog before (oh, and here), but she hasn’t taken up quite as much real estate here as I would’ve expected. That’s because Jess and I have just opted to flood Facebook with about as much of little Megsie as it can handle.

One of the things we’ve worked hard to do was carry out an idea we saw on a blog we love (Young House Love) of capturing Meg on a weekly basis to help us try and document our quickly-changing baby girl. I couldn’t be happier that we’ve stuck it out and kept going with this fun project. To be honest, it’s a bit of a hassle; the spot we found with best light is precisely where our dining room table sits which means sliding it out and moving her in week in and week out. Jess, however, has proven her creative prowess as she’s offered most of the suggestions about how we can theme the shots to help them carry an even greater pertinence to her first year.

And, there is a photography-related tidbit with this blog post, her latest image (week 40, below) was the very first image taken with my new Canon 5D Mark iii. So pumped to have that camera and couldn’t have started its life in my hands with a better subject.

I’ll update this blog post again at the end of this project (week 52–just a few months away).

Meg, you are loved. I cannot believe that is really you in week one.

She really started smiling around week nine and never stopped! Love this “interruption!” :-)

I could look at these over and over and over again. I would like to order a coffee table book of the 52 weeks of your beautiful baby girl. Please invoice me when we get to the 52 weeks! =)
