life post: need your help

Alright, so, Jess and I have reached a sort of a dilemma about where we should place the television in our living room. Here’s the deal, some people turn their nose up to placing the TV on the mantle–saying it’s a tragedy to make the television the visual focal point of the room. However, it opens up a good bit of space to not have to occupy a wall with a media stand. Want to know your thoughts… vote below!

just saying :) - just forget about the tv….after withdrawls you won’t miss it and will discover this precious thing called time. :)

Anna Burns - They’re beginning to make flat screens that, when turned off, turn into a mirror. So when you’re tv isn’t on, a mirror will be the focal point of your room!

just so you know - the heat of the fireplace can have negative effects on the tv if it’s placed above the mantle. this can lead to shorter lifespan and diminished picture quality for your tv. :]

admin - Well, thanks HGTV. Interesting: I didn’t know that HGTV would be using a computer on the MC network. ‘Cause, that was definitely where your IP address was generated from. ;) Regarding the heat from the fireplace, we plan on utilizing a blower with our fireplace that would move the heat away from the TV–if we decide to place it there. Very good insight though! Thanks!

Anastasia - I was coming to make a comment about placing your television, especially a high quality (expensive) plasma, above a fireplace and what it can do it. . . but I see someone already has. If you are not going to use your fireplace (heartbreak!!!), different story.

anna kathryn milling - I’m certain you’ve already placed your television, but this made me think of everyone who has come by to see my apartment in Olde Town Clinton and asked where my tv was. The faces I get after saying that I have a huge fish tank instead never get old.
